TSNE MissionWorks(TSNE) provides management and leadership resources to help nonprofits support healthy, just communities. As the Director of Consulting and Professional Learning, you will be in a newly created position in a department that has recently been re-aligned to be thought of as the programming and service team. You will oversee a team of five with four direct reports, in consulting, executive transitions. You will be responsible for development, design and implementation of the content for the organization’s consulting practice, leadership and professional development programs, and cohort learning groups.
Essential Job Functions
Content Development and Management
- Design and develop strategic long-term goals for content and curriculum that support nonprofit organizational needs with clear objectives and goals that align to TSNE’s vision and values;
- Work collaboratively with, leverage, and utilize the knowledge and diverse skill set of colleagues to plan, design, develop, and ensure implementation of content and curriculum for leadership and professional development programs, consulting engagements, and cohort learning groups;
- Work collaboratively with the Learning and Evaluation team to develop assessment tools to inform continuous learning and improvement;
- Ensure that programs, engagements, and other learning activities are meeting intended objectives and requirements;
- Develop, maintain, and continually update research and trends in the field of nonprofit organizational development and learning.
Consulting Team Management
- With the program team, design, plan, implement, and regularly review a comprehensive, responsive, and culturally competent framework and methodology for consulting and executive transitions engagements, including the implementation of content with assessments;
- Responsible for ensuring consulting, learning programs, and other client engagements are well supported;
- Ensure that the staff team are supervised, supported, and provided with staff development opportunities;
- Ensure that the external consultant pool is supported, annually reviewed, and updated to reflect the skills, competencies, and diversity needed to deliver high impact, responsive, and culturally competent engagements;
- Ensure that the consulting team works in partnership with the intake, learning, and evaluation teams to create aligned and integrated client engagements;
- Provide client services as needed, including consulting and other supports.
- Serve as a thought leader and work in collaboration with consultants, team members, and staff throughout the organization to lift and share lessons learned;
- Ensure that high-quality, culturally competent services are designed and delivered;
- Serve on the Leadership Team and collaborate on organizational and learning initiatives;
- In partnership with colleagues: develop proposals for prospective client requests for services and for foundation support for TSNE MissionWorks’ hallmark, values-driven services; market services and build partnerships using existing and new networks; develop new client relationships;
- Provide technical assistance to clients as necessary.
Core Competencies Required
- Minimum ten years of experience working in program and content design required
- A minimum of eight years of experience supervising staff, preferably in a nonprofit setting or with cross-organizational staff teams required
- Proficiency in adult learning, assessments, group dynamics and facilitation techniques, especially in a nonprofit context
- Proficiency with current techniques and procedures in the design and development of program and content, with expertise in creating methodology and standardizing implementation processes
- Demonstrable knowledge in organizational development, consulting or non-profit management preferred
- Competence with understanding and meeting diverse learning styles, with emphasis on a culturally proficient lens
- Experience working with diverse constituencies and stakeholders, with demonstrable cultural competence
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written contexts
- Excellent research and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Commitment to learning and continuous improvement practices
- Proven ability to identify and strengthen effective practices and to challenge a “status quo” approach
- Commitment to participatory management and shared leadership practices

- Proficiency with technology including MS suite and Customer Relationship Management platforms (CRM)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team-based environment
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Experience working in, or a strong commitment to the social justice, racial and economic equity or related field strongly preferred
